Tomato Festival Photos

May 5th, Saturday,  I was invited to sing at the Ruskin Tomato and Heritage in Ruskin. Actually I think it was more like Apollo Beach. It was at a public park. There was quite a crowd there and you know they had to be there on purpose since it was so isolated. I think I'll have to go back and check out the beach! Everyone was very friendly and they seemed to like my music. So, here are some photos from the Festival.

You should check it out next year. The Festival  is one of those hidden small town treasures that we take for granted so often. It is what makes America what it is.

Festival Fun!

TOMATO SLICES!

This is my newest friend Heidi.

This stuff is sooo good. Gotta love this garlic! Wonder where I can find a garlic festival?

He calls himself the Crazy Jamaican.

Now this is what I have been looking for .................

hmmmmmmm- think I'll have to get one of these stickers made

Richard gettin down.............too bad I can't get in touch with him.

Richard Weaver was  innocently dancing by himself at the edge of the crowd when my mom drug him up to the stage. Poor guy- but it was fun to get him up there. He was trying to get me to dance, but I just don't have that talent.

wooooo- got to catch my breath!

what a good sport

part of the crowd

It was very nice to have covered areas to sit and eat. Especially since the area by the stage was full.

It was a beautiful day

Some of the crowd enjoying the food. And the music   :)

It was hot, but fun.

I am so glad they like my music.

On stage

Pastor Charlie was the emcee.

Jeff the sound guy made everything work. Without the sound guy you just can't put on a good show. Thanks Jeff.

This is Don Glover. He is the guy who organized everything and asked me to be part of the program.

I didn't get to hear many of the other performers, but I can tell you that the Swamp Stompers and the Sweeney Family Band are totally awesome!
