Great news Ashley. Heading for the top.
I was reading on my Florida Hospital
Foundation calendar the quote for June 18, 2007.

"No fine work can be done without
 concentration and self-sacrifice."

You certainly have been paying your dues.

..........
Florida Jaycees Conference 2007

Sunday morning was busy as the Board prepared to hold the meeting to end the conference.

Had to stop for a photo with the state representative for Regions 1 and 8 Jack Raleigh, Jr.

Bill Malson took second place in the Idol contest while Rick Struchko got third place. They were both great.

The group from Region 9 worked hard to convey their excitment about being proud members of the Florida Jaycees.

Claiming the trophy for winning the Idol contest.

Region 6 won the trophy for the most enthusiastic!  They certainly were!

President CC Ackerman and VP Nancy  Jewell congratulate Ashley on being selected to represent the Florida Jaycees as the Jaycees Idol for Florida 2007.

Cool...got to sing two more songs later in the night for the "stragglers". I'll sing any chance I get!

Janice and JT couldn't decide who I sounded like.

DJ  Bob kept the party going into the wee hours of the morning.................

Everyone getting into the Slide.

It isn't a party without dancing!

Bill Malson wowed us all with his smooth voice. He was awesome! He sang "My Way."

Rick Struchko did a fantastic job with Kenny Rogers "Lady".

Some of the crowd cheering on the singers. Everyone had a good time.

JT Smalley got everyone moving.

Then they got the Ashley version of  "Anyway".

Crystal Ramsay started off the night and the crowd with "I Love Rock n Roll"!

This was the dress for the awards banquet. I felt a little  overdressed, but everyone liked it so that made me feel better.

Janice Kenner is the President of the Daytona Jaycees. She got a couple of awards at the banquet. She is quite enthusiastic!

Kay White, Florida JCI Senate President  and Sharon Miller,Senate International Vice President.

The 2007 Board about to be sworn in.

Current State President CC Ackerman and 2006 State President Kit King.

This is Tatiana. She works at South Beach Fashions in Daytona Beach on Seabreeze Blvd. She helped me pick out the most awesome dress-  it is the dress I decided to wear for the Jaycees Idol competition on Saturday night. Actually there was also another dress that she suggested that I liked, but it wasn't in the budget. For some reason, I just couldn't get a withdrawal from the Bank of Mom.

Well, this one definitely looked better on the hangar.

Looks pretty elegant, but not this week.

Yep- this is the Idol dress!

This was on the balcony of our room at the Plaza Ocean Club. It was very windy and kinda cool, but still a pretty day.

Rick Struchko, Community Vice President and Drew Ramsay, International Assistant VP join Ashley poolside for the beach party.

State Jaycees President Caryn "CC" Ackerman takes a few minutes at the beach party to talk with Ashley. It was just as pretty as it looks at the Plaza  Resort  & Spa in Daytona Beach.

The Zephyrhills Jaycees, Junior Chamber of Commerce is a not for profit organization of young adults between the ages of 18 and 41 years old.  I plan to become an active member of the Zephyrhills Jaycees and hope you will consider the same.

If anyone is interested in joining  the  Zephyrhills Jaycees you can contact them by e-mail at  zhillsjaycees@yahoo.com

All who turned out had a great time and we were all truly blessed to hear the fantastic band  Scilter. They are awesome and you can hear a sample of their music at  Scilter.Com . Check them out.

Also Dr. Dr Thayer and Dr. Ed of 96.7fm "The Zephyr" were on hand to keep the listening community in the loop. These two dudes are really  wired!  They are appreciated very much.

So enjoy the photos!  I will add more as they are sent to me.  Hopefully you can see more of the people who were there. And make plans to join us next year.
