How to help...

Total raised....................$11,964!  Terrific!

With medical expenses this won't go as far as we would like, but  what a great reflection on the community.

Here are the pictures we took of the event for Katie. If you would like copies of the pictures just get in touch with Missy Lea at the Dade City Chamber of Commerce at 352-567-3769.
Please keep Katie and her family in your prayers.

Katie
Sterling is a 17 year old student at Pasco High School in Dade City. She was diagnosed with a malignant cancer (sarcoma) in August of this year and has been on life support three times so far. She has been in the hospital most of the time since then and still has to face months of chemotherapy and radiation in her fight for life.

Katie is a National Honor Society student and has always been known as a person willing to do for others.  A spaghetti dinner was held on October 16th at the American Legion to  raise some much needed help for Katie and her family.

If you go to the Tampa Tribune web site, you can read the story about Katie. Here is the link to the story: http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/oct/09/pa-benefit-to-assist-ailing-teen/

If you were not able to get to beautiful Dade City but still want to help, checks can be made out to "Katie Sterling Benefit" and sent to the Dade City Chamber of Commerce at  14112 8th Street, Dade City, Fl  33525.

No matter where you live, I encourage you to find someone in your community to support. We all know or have knowledge of those who could use a little exra help. Maybe a food bank, homeless shelter, women's shelter, or one of the larger charitable organizations. I know they would be glad to see you.

Ours is a great country because of our willingness to look out for one another.

God Bless!
