It's a good thing Mom's always willing to drive.....that is my designated make-up time
The "Ray-Jay"
It was a perfect day.
Just a short video was all I got a chance to do.....I didn't know I wasn't allowed to video anything at all.
Doing the sound check.......only the track and event staff were there...but what a thrill...Even with the 3 second delay.
This is my buddy Cliff. It was a nice surprize to see him. What a handsome guy!
I had to wait quite a while after I got ready.....but not a problem......
It is pretty breezy in the tunnel where I had to wait for about two hours. But the sound guy was so sweet...he covered me with his jacket. I put a CD in his jacket pocket when he wasn't looking! :)
waiting in the Army humvee with Sgt. Jose Ortiz. He drove me out into the Stadium. We did a lap and I got to wave at everyone in the stands. They actually waved back....IT WAS SO COOL! Later he drove me out to the field to do the Anthem.
With the announcer and the cameraman. The announcer pointed out to me that the last person to sing the Anthem at the Ray-Jay was Jennifer Hudson who did it for the Super Bowl. However, she was required to lip sync to a recording she had done for the event. No pressure- he just thought I would want to know that I was following her. I think he was trying to calm my nerves.
All alone in the spotlight for our National Anthem. OMG! What a rush......I want to do that again--- soon!
The announcer told me that there were 65 thousand people at the Monster Jam. Someone did video it and put it on you tube. You can find the video if you search "monster jam national anthem" on you tube.
This is Sgt. Jose Ortiz. He was so sweet to me.
